What's Happening to Our Inner Peace?

This world feels so overwhelming these days with the news of inflation, high gas prices and talks of a recession has a lot of us feeling as though the safety net has been removed. Chaos seems to surge like lightning from the sky. I'm not sure about you, but I am grieving the peace within of all of the exessive information overload that is being reported.

Fear seems to raise its ugly head and whisper the lies that we are doomed. It can be overwhelming at times. This endless political and information war we find ourselves in makes it even more chaotic. Personally, I try not to turn on the news to have to listen or see the violence, the accusations, death, and fear mongering.

The uncertainty of the times we are all living has taken our peace. Has this uncertainty taken our peace or have we given it away? Something to ponder as our frustrations seem to mound. Two short years ago, we were all just going through the motions of work, home, family dinner, paying bills, repeat. We were inside of our comfort zones known as routine and familiar.

I have asked myself time and time again, "Do you really want to go back to familiar?" When I really put some deep thought into it, my answer is No. I don't want to go back to that ... I want to build and create something better for my life. Which led me to my next question ... What do you want?

I spent an entire day answering that question and it was no easy task. I want a lot of things as most of us do. I really spent some time creating a vision for those wants and again, it led me to yet another question ... Why do you want it?

The why came relatively easy ... My why is simple and it actually helped me determine my "what" - All I want is to help people heal their hearts. Why do I want this? Because it's obvious that out of the mouth, the heart speaks - When someone has a heart that is filled with hurts, trauma, and loss, it just spills over onto others.

I guess I could be honest and tell you that not everyone is willing to do the action steps to look within. I believe it could be fear holding them back ... You know, those thoughts of "If I show you what's inside, you may judge me, reject me, or tell me I shouldn't feel that way." Nothing is further from the truth. YOU are the only one that knows how youu truly feel. Just like me, I'm the only one who knows how I truly feel. We might relate to those feelings, but nobody has a right to tell us how to feel or not to feel.

I've come to see that I can't change what's happening in the world around us all ... But my heart wants to be a part of the change I'd like to see in this world. Can you even imagine releasing all the hurts from your past? Have you ever paused to look at it? Do you pay attention to your self talk? If you're like thousands of people, you'll hear yourself saying, "What's the point?" "I'm not good enough" "I'm too old" "Nobody seems to want me around" and the list goes on ...

Now, can you imagine turning those self-sabbotaging messages around? You'll be discovering things like, "I see the point in doing this!" "I AM good enough" "I am NOT too old to start a new adventure" "I'm blown away at all the people who enjoy my company" and yes, the list goes on.

So I am going to challenge you for a minute ... When you hear yourself talking negative, I want you to ask yourself this: "Who told you this?" I mean really stop and think about the millions of words that have been spoken over you ... Were they always affirming to you? Sometimes we get stuck on the negative stuff. So what is your self talk and who put it there? No, this is NOT about blaming anyone, it's about getting to the root cause of it all.

This is all about recovering the pain that was deposited inside that beautiful heart of yours. You may be carrying around a heart that is filled with pain ... Once you have the tools to free yourself from that pain, you have a heart that is open to joy, love and yes, new beginnings!

Healing is a choice. You get to choose. You know when you're ready and my prayer for you is that as you witness the words coming from your own heart, they will be spoken with love, encouargement, affirmations, and knowledge. That's how we become the change we'd like to see in this world.

Have a blessed rest of your week and remember to take the time to look within ...

From my heart, to yours ...
